Tattooing With Vee
Good tattoos start with trust
I've been handpoking tattoos for thirteen years, and I still absolutely love what I do. My practice, Cozi Tattoos, was built on the belief that getting tattooed should feel comfortable, collaborative, and affirming, no matter who you are or what brings you into my chair.
I specialize in blackwork, ornamental designs, and ancestral tattooing, but I love making all kinds of tattoos. From meaningful, deeply personal pieces to silly little flash, I'm here to help you feel more at home in your body.
My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in care, consent, and respect for your autonomy. I believe you should always feel safe asking questions, expressing your needs, setting boundaries, or changing your mind. I'm here to work with you, never to make decisions about your body for you.
I take my art seriously, but the trust and relationships I build with my clients mean even more to me. It's a privilege to be invited into that process, and I don't take it for granted.
What I love to make
I've spent thirteen years developing my handpoked technique, and I love the versatility of working entirely by hand. My biggest specialties are ancestral tattooing and large-scale ornamental blackwork, though I love making all kinds of tattoos.
Ancestral tattooing is particularly close to my heart. I work with clients to explore their family histories, cultural backgrounds, and the stories of the people who came before them. Through conversation and research, we create something deeply personal that honors their lineage and the journey that brought them here. It's some of the most meaningful work I get to do, and you can learn more about my ancestral tattoo process on its own page.
I also have a deep love for large-scale blackwork, bold ornamental designs, and Asian florals. I enjoy creating pieces that work with the natural shapes of the body, whether that's a bold, flowing composition or something delicate and detailed. Handpoking allows me to build these designs slowly and intentionally, one dot at a time.
And while these are my specialties, I'm always happy to collaborate on custom ideas or make something from my flash collection. Not every tattoo needs a profound meaning or a big story behind it. Sometimes you just want something beautiful, funny, or a little weird, and I'm here for all of it.
Your comfort comes first.
Getting tattooed can be vulnerable, whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth. You're trusting someone with your body, and I take that responsibility seriously.
My practice is trauma-informed and rooted in consent, communication, and care. That means you're always welcome to ask questions, take breaks, adjust your position, speak up if something doesn't feel right, or change your mind. I'll walk you through the process, check in with you along the way, and make sure you're an active participant in what's happening to your body.
I also know that everyone has different needs. Some people love chatting through their appointment, while others prefer quiet. Some need extra time, reassurance, or accommodations to feel comfortable. I'm happy to work with you to make the experience feel right for you.
Above all, I want you to feel like you can be yourself in my chair. We can laugh, talk about life, listen to music, or just hang out quietly while I work. There's no right way to show up, and you never have to earn kindness or respect here.
You're the one who has to live with your tattoo. My job is to make beautiful art while making sure the experience of receiving it feels just as good.
Carry your story with you.
Ancestral tattooing holds a special place in my practice. These pieces begin with your story: your family, your roots, and the people who came before you.
Through conversation, research, and collaborative design, we create a tattoo that honors your lineage in a way that's meaningful and personal to you. Whether you have generations of family history to share or are only beginning to discover where you come from, I'd love to explore that story with you.
